Get into Shakespeare Country

Stratford upon Avon is an ideal venue if you're looking for some culture. The town is the birthplace of William Shakespeare and plenty of opportunities exist in and around the region to learn more about Britain's most famous playwright.



The town is located in the Midlands a few miles south of the city of Birmingham and sits in the county of Warwickshire. The beautiful Cotswolds are a few miles to the south.

Home of the Royal Shakespeare Company

There's lots to see and do and the towns theatres are home to many of the Great Bard's plays and also the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC). There's always plenty on as you would expect in the heart of Shakespeare country!

A Centre for Culture

Nearby the culture continues with Blenheim Palace which is set in 2100 acres. The palace is famous as the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill. The grounds of the palace are open to the public and regular events take place throughout the year.

The River Avon is another popular place to relax within the town. River boat cruises are available for hire and are an ideal way to relax. If you're looking for something a little extra why not hire a canalboat for a truly relaxing break.
